We are looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented designer to be the next member of our growing developer-owned, remote-friendly, people-first, hyphen-loving company.

Candidates need to provide graphic, UX, and UI design services to clients and assists with graphic, UX, and UI designs for the company’s branding and marketing initiatives. This role contributes individually and with others throughout the design lifecycle, helping provide quality design services to clients and internal teams.

Essential Duties

  • Loves to work directly with customers to solve business problems
  • Productively interacts with key stakeholders and subject matter experts, serving as a client representative to understand the client’s subject matter and work with them to incorporate design materials into quality design solutions.
  • Produces quality wireframes and mockups of user interfaces demonstrating an understanding of universal design and basic accessibility requirements to contribute to software projects for clients.
  • Proactively collaborates with internal teams and client contacts to conceptualize, design, and prototype excellent user experiences while maintaining functionality and simple workflows. This collaboration may involve occasional in person and virtual meetings with clients onsite.
  • Maintains frequent communication with project leads informing of project status and progress to ensure design materials are put into design solutions within the allotted time.
  • Contributes to innovative user research and discovery with ongoing guidance from a project collaborator, incorporating the research into the design output.
  • Contributes to a defined research documentation set, producing documentation on reasoning, methods, approach, and the direction taken in effort to aid in the understanding and evaluation of its overall function.
  • Produces high quality graphic design materials including logo design and illustration across a wide range of physical and digital applications (brochures, website, social media, etc.) for different client projects and to support the company’s branding and marketing initiatives.
  • Exports and configures design artifacts into the appropriate formats within Adobe Creative Suite and Figma for delivery and publishing purposes, ensuring accurate formatting and optimization.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in graphic design and user interface design is required.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, exporting and optimizing deliverables and files.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure meaningful engagement and partnership with project stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of Design Thinking practices and methods and the ability to leverage these in the design process.
  • Demonstrated experience using standard user interface patterns.
  • A strong understanding of User Experience Research methodologies to incorporate user insights collected from various user experience metrics (web analytics, surveys, user testing, and user interviews) into enhancements requirements, user stories, and designs.
  • Prior experience in reviewing existing systems and processes to identify UX issues and develop UX recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills to plan out daily routes and keep clients informed.
  • Strong attention to detail in documenting concepts.
  • Ability to work well independently and within a team environment, while adhering to established and agreed upon deadlines and establishing individual deadlines.
  • Ability to seek ongoing feedback from team members and project stakeholders in effort to continuously improve performance and work product.
  • Experience maintaining frequent communication with project stakeholders, providing updates on timelines, obstacles, and status while being mindful of deadlines and expectations.
  • Ability to diligently adhere to client and company security policies, remaining compliant at all times.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Figma is required.
  • Basic familiarity with HTML/CSS is required.

Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions

  • Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk remaining stationary, typing, and talking.
  • This role is available as fully remote and generally would require you to attend occasional onsite client meetings based on business needs.
